Besides that, she's got experience from St. Mungo's and from field mediwizardry with the Ministry.

Describe your character’s flaws and magical weaknesses (if you have a strong magical ability you must counteract it with a magical weakness equal or greater than the talent):She's a bit of a recovering lush, and only keeps under control when at the castle. When off-hours, she'll take the opportunity to drink to excess. Also, her Transfigurations could use some polishing, and she hates Ancient Runes. Illogical, but she does.

Describe your character's physical attributes: A short woman, her face is starting to show the ravages of a decade of substance abuse. Already thin and somewhat pinched, she looks far older than she is. Her hair was dark when she was younger, but now she has streaks of grey starting to appear. She doesn't take the best care of her appearance, though she's always clean.

Character Background/History:
Simona was born to a very traditional minded family. Thus, upon receiving her letter, her father wanted to know if she would be able to use the skills she would learn for either nursing, teaching, secretarial work, or housewifery. Simona, trying to stretch a bit and hoping Hogwarts would hold the key to that, told him yes. Her grades while at school were high, simply because she was afraid of being forced to leave if they weren't. Thus, upon leaving school she entered field medic training for the Aurors. When she completed this program, she became a nurse for the next five years, leaving for a position at St. Mungo's. She spent a decade there, growing more and more worn down from the incurable and the brutal nature of some of the long term patient's injuries from the War. She began to drink a bit, first only as a social thing, then as a social thing and a nightcap, and then she added it to lunch and dinner. She rarely gets DRUNK, mind-just blunted.

Six years ago, she was going to take a sabbatical from St. Mungo's, and instead was offered a job/transfer to Hogwarts. She took it, knowing she would only have to deal with the wounds of the young instead of the suffering of adults. She considers it a fair trade-she can't drink as much anymore, but it isn't as necessary.
